Comparative Cytogenetics in Four <b><i>Leptodactylus</i></b> Species (Amphibia, Anura, Leptodactylidae): Evidence of Inner Chromosomal Diversification in Highly Conserved Karyotypes

چکیده
With 82 species currently described, the genus <i>Leptodactylus</i> is most diverse and representative one in family Leptodactylidae. Concerning chromosomal organization, this represents an interesting underexplored group since data from molecular cytogenetics are incipient, little known about organization distribution of repetitive DNA elements karyotypes. In sense, study aimed at providing a comparative analysis 4 (<i>L. macrosternum, L. pentadactylus, fuscus,</i> cf<i>. podicipinus</i>), combining conventional (Giemsa staining, C-banding, AgNOR staining) mapping markers (18S rDNA, telomeric microsatellite probes), to investigate mechanisms underlying their karyotype differentiation process. The results showed that all had karyotypes with 2n = 22 FN 44, except for cf. <i>podicipinus</i> which presented 36. 18S rDNA was observed pair 8 analyzed (corresponding <i>L. pentadactylus</i>), coinciding secondary constrictions staining. FISH probes demonstrated species-specific patterns, as well association these sequences constitutive heterochromatin blocks ribosomal clusters, revealing dynamics microsatellites genome species. summary, our demonstrate ongoing process genomic divergence inside almost similar karyotype, driven likely by series pericentric inversions, followed differential accumulation sequences.

متن کاملComparative cytogenetics of Physalaemus albifrons and Physalaemus cuvieri species groups (Anura, Leptodactylidae)
Recently, Physalaemus albifrons (Spix, 1824) was relocated from the Physalaemus cuvieri group to the same group as Physalaemus biligonigerus (Cope, 1861), Physalaemus marmoratus (Reinhardt & Lütken, 1862) and Physalaemus santafecinus Barrio, 1965. To contribute to the analysis of this proposition, we studied the karyotypes of Physalaemus albifrons, Physalaemus santafecinus and three species of ...
متن کاملConserved karyotypes in the Hyla pulchella species group (Anura, Hylidae).
Cytogenetic analyses were done on specimens of Hyla marginata and on three populations of H. semiguttata differing in morphology and in the physical parameters of their advertisement call, as well as in individuals of Hyla sp. (aff. semiguttata). All specimens had 2n=24 chromosomes with a morphology very similar to that of other 24-chromosome Hyla species. Hyla semiguttata and H. marginata show...
متن کاملChromosomal analysis of Physalaemus kroyeri and Physalaemus cicada (Anura, Leptodactylidae)
All the species of Physalaemus Fitzinger, 1826 karyotyped up until now have been classified as 2n = 22. The species of the Physalaemus cuvieri group analyzed by C-banding present a block of heterochromatin in the interstitial region of the short arm of pair 5. Physalaemus cicada Bokermann, 1966 has been considered to be a member of the Physalaemus cuvieri species group, although its interspecif...
متن کاملChromosomal Evolution in Tortricid Moths: Conserved Karyotypes with Diverged Features
Moths of the family Tortricidae constitute one of the major microlepidopteran groups in terms of species richness and economic importance. Yet, despite their overall significance, our knowledge of their genome organization is very limited. In order to understand karyotype evolution in the family Tortricidae, we performed detailed cytogenetic analysis of Grapholita molesta, G. funebrana, Lobesia...
